From Helicopters and Sirens ?
That's a big part of it. Our helmets have hearing protection built in, lately I've been wearing extra earplugs under the muffs to see if I can tell a difference. It's been worse lately and I have wondered if a frequency has changed in our engines.

Also loud concerts, guns, and before my son was born I worked setting up a lot of firework shows. Quite a few of those were hand-lit standing right next to the mortar racks. I've been good at using hearing protection since I've been over 21 or so, but not so good as a teenager.

When I was shooting 'Service Rifle' competition I had muffs and plugs. I got Tinnitus, I think from it. The guy to the left of you while you where prone on your mat, his ejection port would be to the left of your left ear. I could feel the concussion from it even with the double protection. I quit that soon after I was noticing it.

I still always plug and muff, but don't get next to others anymore by not doing competitions.

I've been working on 2012 VW Jetta SportWagen's ignition key system. There is an assembly on the steering column that has the key cylinder on the right side, the starter switch on the left side, and in between the steering wheel lock mechanism. I can start and turn off the car but half the time I can't remove the key as it will not turn counterclockwise far enough to pull the key out. Yesterday I ordered up a new assembly which should be here tomorrow. I can reuse the key cylinder and the starter switch. Here's the procedure. (Lots of contortions. :( )

Did a bunch of repairs on landscaping equipment ...

The new front tires came in for my Deere X580 (front tires had bunch of leaks from running over wild pear branches in the field) to I took the wheels off and brought them, with the new tires, down to the local tire shop. 15 minutes and $20 later I was on my way. Money well spent.

My neighbor brought me his walk behind leaf blower that wouldn't start. Carburetor was gummed up so I R&R'd the carb for a good cleaning. Starts with one pull now.

Same neighbor then brought me his Ferris Z-turn that wouldn't start, starter wasn't engaging. Turned out the the 5 year old battery was kaput, so I replaced the battery, which required removing a bunch of brackets that were in the way. Simple job took more than an hour. But starts great now.

This is no joke.
The Onion just bought Alex Jones' Infowars. Sale price and The Onions plans were not disclosed.

Oh, this has serious potential.
The purchase announcement is pure gold. the first paragraph:
Today we celebrate a new addition to the Global Tetrahedron LLC family of brands. And let me say, I really do see it as a family. Much like family members, our brands are abstract nodes of wealth, interchangeable assets for their patriarch to absorb and discard according to the opaque whims of the market. And just like family members, our brands regard one another with mutual suspicion and malice.
