Hi forum,
I have been using 2 mil Mylar from Tap Plastics as a cleaving layer on top of the mandrel for a fiberglass layup of body tubes. I have problems with the Mylar not separating from the fiberglass after the mandrel is removed. Its very difficult to try and remove a piece that is stuck down inside a body tube that is to small to get a hand in. Does anyone use something besides Mylar? Does anyone wax the Mylar before starting with the resin?

Thanks,
Jim

electrical tape. Wrap it with the sticky side out. Things slide right off.

I coat my mylar with Frekote 770NC. But I only use mylar on the outside of the tube. I use only Frekote on the mandrel, which is aluminum. Comes off very easily every time.

That's just my method. Parchemnt paper as recommended is also great.
