I just put 5 minute epoxy fillets on the 40 year old Maxi-Alpha.
Making mistakes is normal, just make NEW onesLearning from other people's mistakes is a habit that has to be learned - from one's own mistakes.
Now that's reassuring....I covered the whole thing in red and white. Sadly it disintegrated into a cloud of balsa shards after a few flights. I didn't yet have my Cannon super-micro rx/servo set - it was quite heavy and flew like a vaguely controllable brick.
I'm sure with modern receiver, LiPo and servos it will be a lot lighter. The radio gear I had in it was at least 100-125 grams. Now that's reassuring....
The contested closed at 12 midnight and the winner was selected please see the thread.Just a reminder !!!

Then you look at whoever asked like they're stupid, point to the rocket, and say "She is. Duh."I had thought about calling it Penny. But I figured I would get asked, who is Penny.

Even if you weren't allergic to epoxy before, I have read that you can develop an allergy over time. So please wear gloves, eyewear, and work in a well ventilated area the next time.Woke up with swollen, burning eyes from putting the epoxy fillets on last night. Something has changed as I use to work everyday for 2 years with this same brand.

(No, I don't have a recommendation for a replacement).
Of course. Since Marty was using epoxy, I assumed it was something other than wood product to wood product. At the risk of going off into a glue thread (again) I'll just remind you that, as has been discussed many times before, wood glue is more than adequate for paper and wood.
Spirals are a function of the manufacturing method. A slight gap is better than overlap. It's just kind of the nature of the beast.applied some of the spackling compound on the spirals of the 40 year old Maxi Alpha, the color changing type that was recommended on here. It's supposed to be 66 tomorrow, so I'll go out on the patio and sand on it. I know it gets removed quickly so I'll try 400 grit.
Have I mentioned how much I hate cheap, poor quality materials? Spirals are unacceptable and life is WAY too short to waste your remaining time on them.
Cut 46 body tubes. Used a lot of blades...
