I started going through my collection of partially complete Astro-Blaster kits and found that one is actually the missing parts for my half completed Strato-Blaster that I was also looking for.

Hello, today I posted my first message to the rocket forum, and spun up a nose cone for a BT-50 rocket using my taig. This is the 3rd one I've done. I'm getting the order of operations down, and they're getting easier, and better fitting.

I've been getting ready for tomorrows launch. The weather looks good. Not to hot and 6 mph winds. We had lots of wind this past spring. We deserve a break. I'm planning on flying an I 500 tomorrow. I've flown an I 280 and that was cool. So we will see how fast the I 500 is. Thrustcurve predicts 4000'+ for the rocket it's going in. I've gone to 3400' before so this is the biggest the fastest for me tomorrow. This morning I finished one of my projects. It is a 2.6" BMS heavy tube with a 38mm x 15" mmt. It's 69" long and weighs 66 ounces with the chutes. It is dual deploy. The fins are 1/4 5 ply from BMS. I saw the fins I used somewhere and thought they looked good. And I don't already have a rocket with this fin set up. So I had an inspiration for something new. The other project is being bad so I put it in a corner. Two days and the primer still feels tacky. On the finished rocket I painted the black first and 20minutes later I sprayed the grey metallic. I used the metallic because I didn't have any dark grey Krylon. The metal flakes misted over the black and some of the flecks stuck. After the grey had sat for 20 minutes I sprayed the white. I'm not to happy with the transition. It didn't come out as glossy as I had hoped. But I can live with it. Here are the pictures.20210916_185341[1177].jpg20210916_185350[1178].jpg20210916_185631[1179].jpg20210916_185725[1180].jpg20210916_185758[1181].jpg20210916_185839[1182].jpg

It is a cool looking design. How did you like its flight? How big is the field your in?
The flight was awesome
I didn’t push it very hard for its first flight went on a D12-3 and it went up arched over well
Chute opened just after apogee
Field isn’t huge in CT big enough to handle up
To H motors
1500ft is a nice comfortable altitude for the CT field

1500 x 1500 is a comfortable field for sure. Up to G. H and over like you said is not.

My 3 year old grandson came over to visit today and the first thing he asked was to go down to the garage and see the Rockets. So we went down and he wanted to see each one of them taken down from the shelf and he would take it out to the edge of the garage where the opening met the asphalt. then he did a countdown and reached down and picked it up and made a swish sound as if it launched , and then got half way back in the garage and pulled the nose coming off, so he could see the parachute come out, and we had to do that with all 14 Rockets, 2 times 😍
We've got to find a proper place and take all three grandsons out for their first rocket launch, they will be hooked after that.

I am so sorry for your loss. That's too beautiful a rocket for something like that to happen to.
Thanks- it appears all the charges fired, so I'm unsure why it didn't separate. Ground testing seemed to show charges were adequate, I voltage tested the altimeter battery, so I remain confused. A bit of tubing, some couplers, chewing gum and baling wire and maybe I can try again in the spring...
