Shuttle Express No Planes.jpg

What to do with an Estes Shuttle Express with no planes? (Estate sale find.)

Shuttle Express With Planes.jpg

Create some non-standard planes, of course!

I made an F104 Starfighter, and an F117 Stealth to take the place of the missing shuttles. Can't wait to see how they fly. Test flying shows they glide fairly well, but these aren't duration birds...

FINALLY, the LOC Nike Zeus/Spartan built-up fin construction ordeal is at an end.

All fins complete...

Only took five months...

Need to take some speed building lessons from Kuririn, I reckon.

Built these. Got a Cluster Duck and a Zephyr coming today. Going to try and get HP 1 certified. Any pointers? How do I go about buying the engine and such? The build is the easy part!

Mike, I could take some craftsmanship lessons from you, buds.
Working on the TATEOR (Talos/Terrier/Oriole) cardstock sounding rocket.
Chose the more difficult built up fins option rather than the flat glue and press option.
Yeah, built up fins are time consuming. Going on the third build day now.
Almost complete though, just need to finish these @#$%^&* fins.

Laters.

Getting tired of running out of hardware every time I want to set up an avbay, so I placed a bulk order for t-nuts, 4-40 screws, and 1/8" nylon spacers at McMaster-Carr. I already have a healthy supply of 1/4" hardware for holding the bays together.

Wow, that is a lot of delicate work. It'll be worth it in the end, I think, that adds a real nice level of detail.

Installed rail buttons on MRDM. Installed aft centering ring and aft tube closure support. Installed motor retainer and jb weld coat on the fiery end. Sanded nose cone with 120 grit to smooth out. Cut nose cone coupler, installed centering ring for nose bay Into coupler, and then the coupler onto nose cone. Good day. 24A6E96E-F88D-4EC8-BF11-239C3DC4ADE1.jpegE626935E-6C01-4A0F-86F3-CD6ABD69BD1E.jpeg3E417277-7653-4E00-B44F-1EAFCF6EE476.jpeg44CB63F3-6736-4283-9FA6-635ED665882F.jpeg2378CE40-2ACB-4159-8BA2-A2EFA0184A32.jpeg2A5E82F7-6A63-426A-8132-7F7757B2FA4C.jpeg

Looks great! Not sure if I’m going to start a Zephyr or a Cluster Duck. Maybe both?!?!

Getting ready for this weekends launch, I Stickershocked my 7.5 inch scratch called "Jester". Many Thanks to the graphics master Mark Hayes. Very pleased!!

Placed an order for a custom, one off kit from MAC Performance today... Should be a fun build when I get around to it! Also looking at options to resurrect my crashed Pink Daddy into a two staged Mega Pink Daddy... As well as working on a design for another rocket themed after my daughter. Whatever launch I make it to next should be very interesting!

Made some vacuum bag connection ports
