Working on my Fliskit Acme Spitfire. I will confess this is one of the more challenging kits I've ever built.
Also.. were the body tubes changed after the company was sold?
I noticed that the paper parts are not quite right. The shroud was just a hair too large on the small end and the centering rings were just a hair too small on the outside diameter.

That is very plausible. I'd be sure to feed that info back to the company.

Have 2 rockets and a motor prepped for Saturday.

May not get to fly that Pro54 due to our normal trailer hauling members being on travel or unexpectedly drawn away, and I'll likely have to transport some pads to the field.

I really like that Phoenix. This would be the maiden flight, right?

Decided to inventory all my HPR rockets with Eggfinders in the nosecones. 20 and still counting. Updating all the sleds to include a mount for the FW GPS and a small 1s lipo. Redundant GPS and altimeters in most of them. Anything that can fly over 10k ft. gets a GPS.
Also going back through the 37 rockets with altimeters in them and updating them.

I dug out an older telescope tripod and ordered that little Gizmo to install a rod.
Now I will have a nice sturdy launch pad :)

I do believe you are fudging a little. However here goes.

My wife loves it. My build area is the entire kitchen table. My living room and the office area are loaded with rockets!
I think I have a great wife. even though she is handicapped more than me and can barely walk with a walker, she still
    goes to the launches!
Lets hear it for the wives! They either love it or at least tolerate it.

Today, in the last few minutes, rocket wise, I briefly considered throwing all my rockets in the burn-pile after looking at a few pages of this thread and seeing some of the AMAZING work that you builders are sharing!!!
I'm impressed, amazed and humbled every time I get on here!!!
    It's just CRAZY GOOD!!!

Thanks again for sharing/teaching/inspiring/guiding us all to a higher goal!!!!
    Thanks TRF!!!

Flew Checked Baggage on a J420 today. It continued it's tradition of weird recovery failures by ramming the nose cone into the body tube during deployment and breaking a fin off (and punching a hole in the nose cone). The chute release got tangled as well, so it landed hard. The important parts survived, so it should be repairable (it's going to get a longer shock cord too).

The Twelve Questions of Rockets Anonymous

The following questions may help you determine whether Rockets are a problem in your life.

    1. Have Rockets stopped being fun?
    2. Do you ever build or launch Rockets alone?
    3. Is it hard for you to imagine a life without Rockets?
    4. Do you find that your friends are determined by your Rocket use?
    5. Do you use Rockets to avoid dealing with your problems?
    6. Do you build or launch Rockets to cope with your feelings?
    7. Does your Rocket use let you live in a privately defined world?
    8. Have you ever failed to keep promises you made about cutting down or controlling your use of Rockets?
    9. Has your use of Rockets caused problems with memory, concentration, or motivation
    10. When your stash is nearly empty, do you feel anxious or worried about how to get more
    11. Do you plan your life around your Rocket use?
    12. Have friends or relatives ever complained that your Rockets are damaging your relationship with them?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may have a problem with Rockets

Sharon used to play the piano in the background, now most of the rockets are hers....

Yes, that is our front room, and we don't entertain guests much in that room....
The piano still gets dusted occasionally.

Went out with my teenage sons and did 6 low power launches of their scratchbuilt rockets.
    2-B6-4's, 2-C6-7's, 1-C11-7, 1-D12-7
The C6-7 was way to much delay for one of the rockets, it came in ballistic into soft dirt, the ejection charge went off about a second later and the body tube went up on another 10' flight.
Went to Hobbylobby tonight and cleaned out their stock of E motors, picked up an Estes Epic II kit and some C6-0 motors, I haven't done two stage in 40+ years.

I finally added the fillets on my 24mm MD Mach Buster inspired kit. It was sitting around for 4 months with the fins attached and masked, but not finished. It is all ready for paint and a flight now.

Yesterday I painted the insides of the tube fins of the Kraken scratch build I am making out of 38mm Blue Tube. I like working with the stuff.

I also started turning a cedar nosecone on one of my metal lathes. Kraken01.jpg Kraken02.jpg Kraken01.jpg Kraken02.jpg
