Great video! What was the motor on the last one? It screamed out of there!

Got some really rough personal news and built rockets to take my mind off of it.
Ventris motor mount is built and in. Need to print off a template from Payload Bay, fins should go in tomorrow. If things go smoothly, I should be flying it next weekend!

Also my Quinstar kit arrived today (Thanks, Estes Warranty!) and I have a solid plan for my "Solar Warrior XL" build; Apogee order should be here Tuesday. Don't think the SWXL will make it to Sunday's launch, but we'll see. Maybe in primer.

Thanks, and the last motor is an AT I300T...in a 3 lb rocket definitely scoots.

Was there a new hole in the HP pad? I didn't see it when we packed up. (I got stuck lugging the marine battery back)

And it was a great day to test it today with the wind. Whew! I think I logged in over 2 miles with my launches.

The flights were all perfectly stable. The issues were in recovery, not in stability.

Wrapped up my stretch Leviathan today in anticipation for the QCRS launch! All that is left is the clear coat. Named it the Ifrit and it is set up for dual deploy if I ever want to go that route with this rocket. Mainly was practicing HPR techniques in anticipation for new kits I am getting. Really happy with how it turned out in the end, both build and paintwise!

    Building an alien lander....

No really almost finished with the humongous Binder Terrordactyl fin can. Building with wood glue going really fast. As you can see, clamping with zip ties and stretch tape.

Started work on one of my Estes SR-71 kits. Took Mushtang's advice from his build thread and added a engine block from a cut down piece of expended motor. Also added a Kevlar shock cord tied around the engine mount and glued in the MMT first as opposed to the instructions which tell you to add it in one of the last steps. This looks like it's going to be an interesting build.

Washed my motor hardware from yesterday's "static burn".

Washed my Madcow FG Lil Goblin. I've got a Polecat 5.5 Goblin so I may as well build the 2.6 version. Besides, I ordered the Stickershock vinyl for it a few years ago.

After a short break from rocketry during which I restored the RC buggy i built originally 25 years ago, I got back to working on my upscale Astron Cobra today. I CA'd the balsa nose cone and transition. I just need to do a little filling and sanding - and warmer temps - to get ready to paint. I also spent some time with Rocksim refining a couple designs.

What do you mean by finished.. in a hotel? Are you going to a event? Who just brings a rocket to a hotel to work on? Why would you bring a half-built rocket to a event? Why isn't it painted? Why is life a endless bombardment of questions to satisfy humanity?

    Looking nice btw

I'd love to be your mailman, for reasons. You may be complaining to the postal service rather frequently for lost packages. Where do you live so I can apply for a job there?

Put some 10 degree training edges on some itty bitty carbon fins. Also, 30 degree leading edges. Probably will use a grinding wheel instead of the drum sander in the future as the knife edge cut the emery clothe and damaged the rubber drum underneath. 18.6 grams for 4.

Prepped my 3" Blackstar with a K515 Skidmark, then loaded it with about fifteen other rockets into the truck. Took them all out to the trailer and started packing it up for next weekends SSS launch.
Came home and found two more big boxes at the door. This was the last of our Black Saturday Wildman order:

Preparations and pre-flight inspections, to include taking of loaded and unloaded weights of my TLP Indigo.
I also set it on/in my rail to make sure it slides freely and that my stop puts it at the proper position.
Loaded with the E20-4, and with the recovery wadding/chute' packed into position, she comes in at 16.75oz., CG is right where it is on the Sim, or was, as I marked the BT with a dot earlier when I first calculated everything months ago.
My good computer needs a new power supply, so I'm working on my revived old computer that can barely manage going online, let alone running Java or opening Openrocket.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to her maiden flight, hopefully sometime withing the next week or two.:)
I just need to schedule borrowing my Mom's camera for the video, and my Son being available for my launch crew.

Oh, and of course the Weather has to be right.(Fingers Crossed Smiley).

I drove to Vancouver, Washington to pick up the rings and fin laminate for our upscale Dragonfly. Carbon fiber is beautiful stuff.
