This was Saturday actually, but haven't had a minute to upload.

Drove at the crack of dawn and in the torrential rain, the 135km from Brisbane up to the Queensland Air Museum in Caloundra to put on our rocketry club's static display for the "Fast Jets and the Future" open day event. It was a really amazing day, and I think we did ourselves proud. Some photos attached.

Awesome! Any more pics? We need more exposure like this.

Our group Horizon City Rocketry ordered a TRI-3 pad form Frankum Performance last week. What a great guy to deal with. Totally committed to supporting our hobby. Picture from his website.

Completed repairs to my NewWay 4-Square build after the C6-3 burned through the side of the motor.

Started by cleaning up the hole in the side of the tube.

Added a small piece of poster board under the opening.

Cut and added a second piece of poster board to fill the opening.

Mixed up some T88 epoxy and placed it on top of the repair. Hit it with the heat gun to allow it to self level.

Afterwards I hit the area with some of the original paint and it's good as new.

Today I finished painting my 4" LOC Bullet. It's all matte black. Looks nice and sleek. Later on I'll add the decals. This one will be "Bajan Thunder II". First flight hopefully on October 19th in Amesbury, MA.

Decals don't adhere well to matte or flat finishes. Best to start with a gloss finish and flat clear coat afterwards.

That all depends on the vinyl that is being used. I decal a lot of flat painted vehicles with zero issues.

Productive day. Sanded all the fiberglass parts, rounded the fins a touch, got the forward centering ring and shock cord epoxied in.

Wasn't certain if I sanded the motor mount tube enough, but I tried to yank out the cord and it didn't budge.

On another note, my epoxy has been turning out better ever since I bought a scale and started weighing instead of eyeballing it.

Vinyl works fine, I was referring to "decals" as in waterslide. I'm old. Vinyl to me are more like stickers. Heck, I get them from Stickershock23. 😁😁
Agree. "Decals" are waterslide, have been for far more than a half century. Peel and stick are not the same.

Built two Eggfinder Minis, my first Eggtimer builds in a while. Every time I get back to building them, I do better than the previous time. I swear someday I'll even get through building one without having had to reach for the desoldering wick. :D
I've put together a number of different Eggtimer kits. I ended up using my old Olympus bino microscope to actually see what I was doing. Worked great!

I ran across this video a couple of weeks ago & found it very interesting.

Got a couple of birthday presents today. Got the Estes Rail pad and the PML SWR-300. My wife swore she would not buy me anymore rocket kits since I have so many but she loves Skin Walker Ranch, so I hit her weak spot with my wish list.

I got two deliveries today. From BMS, I got two more packs of B14-5T and a pack of B14-7T motors so I should have plenty for the next few launches to try them out. I also got a variety of plywood centering rings and other parts for future scratch builds. From eRockets, I got some extra igniters for the B14s and my F motors plus some other parts BMS doesn't carry. I'm set for a while.
