He calls the "wormhole" things "bosons". They can be 20 or more feet across. A boson is a subatomic particle. He was lazy in giving them this name. Calling him a "boson" was meant to be a pun on the word moron. If you can ignore that, and a couple of other things, the series is a pretty good read.I'm enjoying it so far. Don't know what you mean by being a boson, but I've liked Ringo's novels, so far.
