I'm trying to do some research on nuts, bolts, and washers... I have these links...

https://www.mcmaster.com/#90866a029/=12xythq

I go to the website, and try to access it. Nope. Ok, create an account... Still nope... Try the contact page... I send a message asking for access. I get this

I apologize that you have been restricted from our website, but due to the cost of complying with extensive US export regulations, McMaster-Carr limits access to our website and accepts international purchases only from our established international customers.

Mike

My reply...

I'm trying to find information on parts... following the links provided to me by one of your customers. And you're telling me I can't do research? Hell, I'm using a VPN... Besides me telling you I'm in China, you should have no idea where in the world I'm in (other than Long Beach California).

I need the information... Please let me access the website. Let me worry about import/export restrictions on nuts and washers.

If someone can get some screen captures of the info on those parts, I'd really appreciate it.

I need OD, ID, and thicknesses. Materials would also be useful.

Thanks!
Jim

Poor K'Tesh lost in a foreign land!

PM me the specs of what you need, and I'll try to acquire it here in the Homeland and send it to you.

What the heck were you thinking leaving the Homeland?
It's great that you are so altruistic and all but geez!, you can only give so much.

Here's the links of the parts I'm told I need for this:

I don't actually need the parts... I need the specs for them.

Of course I wouldn't reject the parts if you were to send them to me... Here's a convenient way of picking them all up in one place...

I thought the links were broken or a mistake.
I have all that stuff on hand, and you are saying that you can't get it where it is made???

Quantities and Address to send to.

If you want to be picky and wait for it, I can make them out of other stuff.

Thanks guys!

Dave,
Right now I'm just working on updating a sim, I don't have a build going (not that I'd turn one down).

Pointy Side Up!

I can modify the parts with grinding and sanding, so if you want them light, they can be lighter than they would be from McMaster-Carr, and I'm in no way trying to outshine them or anyone, but I take on a lot of made to order stuff for the simplest of parts, and it makes me motivated if they are for a member here, so I actually get them made and learn something.
I have the stuff, so I can send you both versions.
Jeez! When are you coming home?

No need to modify parts, I'm just updating my .ork files for the Binder Design kits I've got simmed. I'm creating a drop in AV/Dual Deploy bay sim for them.

When am I coming home? Good question. My contract is up in November, but I'm hoping to extend until I have two years of experience (its a resume thing). Then I'll try to get to Taiwan to continue my education. However, thanks to all the friends I've made here, perhaps when I get home, I should go couch surfing for a while.

All The Best!
