Hi everyone. I'm thinking of doing a clone of kit (Not an upscale) and I've got a couple of questions for anyone who either has built this kit or has it in their collection. The only source for the fin pattern that I could find is at plans.rocketshoppe.com and it doesn't have a size reference so I can't tell how large it's supposed to be. The questions. What is the length of the root edge of the fin? Also, how thick is the balsa? I'm guessing it's 3/32. I appreciate the help.

I downloaded the Rocksim file on that page at Ye Olde Rocket Plans and opened it with Open Rocket.
It shows the fin set has a 2.438" root chord and is 1/8" balsa.

Tried opening it at first with the updated Rocksim 10.1 but it kept closing on me.
BTW here's a pic of my Wasp clone next to a Yellow Jacket and a Hornet.
Painted but no decals yet.
Hmmmm, I see a theme here.

Have fun!

FWIW 2.438" translates to 2 7/16".
You should be able to print a full scale template from whatever sim program you're using.
Or print from the .pdf at YORP using 100% scale and check the root length.
Enjoy the build, and pics or it didn't happen. ;)
