For larger rockets I have entire parachutes made out of this ejection charge proof (PTFE) material. You can even make Teflon shroud lines from Glide (TM) dental floss! To get a good pom-pom I lay a shroud line along the airframe lengthwise and wrap the tube (and shroud line) with 15 to 30 turns of Teflon tape. I tie a double knot in the shroud line (around the wraps) and slide the wraps of Teflon tape off the end of the tube. I cut the wraps opposite the knot and feather out the pom-pom which is then dusted with Talcum powder.
