Here is another vintage Estes kit built out of the bag, finished in 3 days. This is a simple build but actually produces a nice looking rocket. I kept with my KISS methods of building. Built per the plans with simple white glue. Balsa sealed with 2 coats of Brodak balsa sealer then after an hour sanded nice and smooth. I sealed the fins and built the rocket in the first day. Of course this is a classic die cut kit, so I had to spend some time cleaning up the rough balsa. Next day I shot Krylon Acryli Quik Gloss white with no primer. Next day I masked the white and sprayed Krylon gloss black followed by the decals.

One of my favourite, if not favourite, kits.

Excellent job on the build.

My next build is the vintage Estes Harpoon

Very nice, sharp.

What do you use to clean the brushes used with the Brodak s/s or is it a one time use?

The fins and nose cone, maybe my favorite Estes nose cone, nice and long make this a classic Estes kit. 10 Years ago, I brought 2 at Walmart and attached them together for my Sizzler 2x. Added weight to nose cone because I was unsure about stability and she lifts off nice and true. I filled in the fin slots from upper tube with scrap balsa and wood filler. Not perfect and no where as nice as your rocket but I am proud of it. For me, a modified build.
