What is the recommended velocity of a rocket under parachute recovery.
On my sims, I'm getting about 18' per second on a 12" chute.
Is this too fast or slow, or about right?
I use to know the rule of thumb, but I have forgotten after 5 years off from using RocSim.

15 to 20 on average, depends on landing surface and rocket material.

Papered Balsa fins on Estes air frame.
It's the upscale Wizard replacement.
You know, the one I had all the problems with... syyyy
In ROCKSIM you can convert to MPH I usually stay between 8-10 mph, but then again I launch at the lake bed which is like asphalt. You can always go up on your chute.

18 FPS sounds good for many ranges. I have a few I like to bring in slower because of fins and pointy bits hanging off the back (or, in the case of Bucky Jones, bring it in horizontally at a crawl).
