In September I'm going to earn my L3 certification at BALLS 30. I'll do so using my 75mm 4-grain CTI motor with an M1101. Looking down the road a ways, someday I'd like to go to the upper end of the M-motor range by launching an AeroTech M1939W. Of course I'll need to have a 98/10240 hardware set to do that. There must be somebody out there who could sell me a used set that would give me a break on the cost of buying new. Maybe an estate sale, maybe somebody leaving the hobby for health reasons. I'm in no big hurry; earning my L3 successfully is obviously the top priority now. But it would make a fine response to my Blushing Bride when she asks me what I want for Christmas. Anybody?

Tell her wait for Tim's black Friday sale this up coming year. He had the exact combo this year ( buy the motor hardware new , get the load for free ) and honestly I really wish I had the money saved for his sale .

3stoogesrocketry, do you remember what the price was for the hardware/reload combo?

Black Saturday 2021, for Wildman Club members, the deal was:

Buy an Aerotech complete 98/10240 motor set at retail price $902.99 and get an Aerotech M 1939 Free!!

My Blushing Bride will be watching carefully this fall to see if that offer is repeated!

There are generally certain "guaranteed repeat" deals that are ultra popular year after year. The M1939 deal is a repeat deal you can almost certainly count on. If you are going to be making the leap into big motor territory and can wait. I would most absolutely wait till the Wildman holiday sales. Also, don't forget to make sure your Wildman Club membership is up to date in advance!

I just made the jump to 98mm in the fall and made sure to wait till the holidays sales. Saved like $600+ on my purchases.

I won't even be L3 certified until September at the earliest - and that optimistically assumes my certification flight is successful.
So: <Wait Mode = ON>

I bought a 98/10240 hardware set from Wildman Rocketry on Black Saturday. $658 all in. The hardware/reload offer was attractive, but didn't fit my needs. I will almost certainly use this motor in the western half of the USA, and when I go out there to fly rockets I buy reloads kits at the launch site from vendors. I'm very happy with the $658 price. Should be arriving this coming week.

Why, do you have one you're looking to get rid of?

Yes, I have two complete 98/10240 motors except for seal discs. It's old hardware from before the seal disc was introduced for the 98mm line. One motor is new, the other is used closures and new casing, but the anodizing is faded halfway along the length.
