First: thank you to the organizers for such an amazing event. Thank you to all the people attending for being so incredibly helpful and friendly. Thank you to the Fliskits guys for spending time hanging out with my son and helping him to be able to register and fly at the event, and all the vendors for sharing time and knowledge. We 100% plan on attending next year, and next time we'll be bringing rockets to fly as well. I didn't know what to expect attending this event but the people and event were absolutely awesome!

Second: I still haven't had time to sort through all my pictures, but I dedicated an hour to importing into Lighroom so I'd have at least a few pictures to share: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-zCRlNJQS4rAFQrZd21NkvMGeNzRo988?usp=sharing

I'm not a great photographer and I didn't have as long of a lens as I wish I had had, but I figured I'd share some of what I took for the people that couldn't make it. If anyone's interested I took a bunch more, my wife has a few videos, and my son took some pictures of rockets behind the flight line and I can share more soon.

Sorry guys... I left my phone/camera in the campground. Phone free has been... better than pictures. Lots of cameras and phones around the field, tho!

I saw that going out and laying in the field. The zipper wasn't bad, but definitely not good. Great UP!

I second that... This field and club is always great. This weekend was blessed with fantastic weather, so the flying was just awesome.

I would love to see any photos/pictures you have from the event.
If you or anyone has video of the Mega Menace 442 going up, please post.

We had a truly amazing URRF 6 event!!! And a significant increase in flyers, and new club members. The new food vendor was fantastic, our support team did a killer job, and the new friendships and stories created this past weekend will last a lifetime for sure.

I personally met some truly amazing people, the kind to give you a hand in a moments notice, extend a bottle water or a glass of lemonade because they could tell you just came back in from a rocket recovery. My neighbor Mickey Rowe was extremely kind to my family and helped my sun get his rocket prepped as I worked the event. There was an abundance of stories and people a-like throughout our event, and so from the entire URRG BOD and URRF 6 team, we would like to say thank you to all of our volunteers URRG members, Torrey Farms, and local Penn Yan community for supporting us, and making this all happen.

As a fellow Rocketeer said, it takes a village to make this all happen, and so we thank you!

Me n my Darkstar Jr. This flew twice, once each day.

Day one was on an H170 to just under 2K
Day two was on a J420 to 5903 ft.

Eggtimer Quantum & Mini on board, with hand-held LCD GPS..

    This makes 3 personal bests:
    Broke a mile
    Largest impulse to date
    Almost MACH (900-something ft/sec)

    Confidence with the Eggfinders improving!

Thanks to the URRF crew for all their hard work and organization. We appreciate it.

I will be returning to URRF for another L3 attempt, as my NC came down too fast on its 100 ft steamer. My son did successfully make his. We had a great time, though, and it was a wonderful experience. Two L3 shots in one weekend. Does Father/Son bonding get any better than that!

Someone wanted me to witness their "NAR Rocket Science Achievement Award Member Achievements, 3 mile". 11:30ish sat flight, away cell. Just before mine IMG_7828_cr.jpg IMG_7853_cr.jpg . Send me your data if you still want me to witness.

I was chasing down rockets, so didn't the the Upscale Deuces Wild up. Next time.

A few pics of Mega Menace 442, a super upscale version of the new 4 inch Menace 442 kit from Wildman and MAC Performance. Flew to 4,200 on a three grain 98. The flight was majestic.

WOW. what a great weekend. My first URRF where I actually had the time to fly several rockets because recovery went so well. Good job and kudos to the flyers for keeping things mostly on our field. only about 6 HP rockets stuck in trees and the Gray Squirrel was working hard on getting them down. Only 1 rocket went into the restricted landing area and that was an easy recovery as well. The improvements to the road and the decision to cancel Friday kept everyone clean and dry on the field. and the food, both on the field and off was great as well. next year the BBQ vendor said he is going to add hotdogs and hamburgers to the menu. Over all the best URRF ever, Can't wait for URRF7.

My family and I had a great weekend at URRF. This was our second event and will definitely be on the calendar going forward! Camping just down the road from the launch site at Country Charm is a blast. The launch site itself is fantastic and the club members and volunteers that keep the show going are first rate!

If you were at the launch, you heard my wife Rosemary on the microphone as she had a great time being LCO for 4 shifts. My kids worked together to win the Fliskits sponsored Alphabet Race, launching A->G on Saturday morning.

I accomplished my goal for the weekend, which was 3 x two stage HPR launches, the 3rd two stage launch was L->J which was also my first L motor (thanks Teddy!).

A big thanks to everyone that made this weekend happen! Rosemary took a quick picture of the flyer's meeting on Sunday morning, here's a shot of some of the people that were hard at work before, during and after this launch Dutch, Larry, Jerry, Greg & Bob.

    Resized_20190623_085601.jpg

Also, shout-out to Grey Squirrel aka Jason who climbed a monster of a tree to safely recovery my rocket that could have landed 10ft to the side in an open field but instead chose to landed in the tallest damn tree around. In the picture below, I've marked him with the yellow circle, the fincan is the red circle.

I should also comment that this launch was one of the first where I did feel truly welcome, and encouraged to attend all the post-launch activities. Being at the campsite helped a lot in that regard!

The memories of 'walking on a marshmallow' will remain with me for a long time! (The ground was squishy, like walking on marshmallows..)

A few of the locals; farmers, came by to watch with their kids in tow. Most in bare feet. That I thought neat..
