Yes, thank you for that. You know, I've been in this for 52 years and this is the first time I'm gonna get to see something like this and I'm absolutely thrilled. But it's kind of a downer that I won't have anything to fly there cause I'm really just starting ,I only have six unbuilt kits to my name, but there are two old classics in there, the Centuri Nike Smoke and the FSI Viking 1. You can certainly bet I'm gonna be in a building frenzy after this.

Registered!

I've been slowly working my way up to breaking outside of our 3 hr launch radius and winter flying season here in Michiana. Finally doing it and going all in for this one. Dragging the trailer and heading upstate.

Of course a couple days in Niagara at the casino really helps the cause as far as the wife is concerned. And wine country.... You gotta sell it fellas! Happy wife means many flights!

And what happens at the field stays at the field especially when you hit Wildman's trailer with that stash money!

I'm really looking forward to putting some faces on names, seeing some great flights, getting a few in myself and getting some decent pics in the process. If all goes well I'm hoping to get my L3 cert flight in end of May at Mini Midwest Power. If not, I'll probably reach out for some CC's attending and do it out there.

See you soon!

Jim

Do it!

I can probably facilitate your budding thrust lust with one of my old semi retired airframes if you don't have anything to fly when you're out there. I've got a few things in my old grab box to loan out that fly pretty good and usually have some DMS to throw in.

Just let me know.

Just southeast of Binghamton, about 15 miles or so. right on Rt 81. We used to fly with the group in Nicholson, PA until they lost the field, too bad, would have been much closer to you .
You said you launched in nicholson? Haha the farm is right down the road from where i live. The land got subdivided unfortunately and the club is no more. My dad said he always used to hear launches once in a while when he stood on the back porch haha. I’d love to see pictures if you have any or know anybody that does!

Its going to be a fun time. Country Charm has a new camp store and they are expanding. Anyone that wants to tent camp are allowed to set up in the Rocket club area so we can all hang out as we are known to do. Relative were looking to see you and you definitely picked the right launch. The BBQ that Teddy arranges daily on the field for this event is really really really good. Bring a rocket and a appetite and your going to have a blast. We have plenty of vendors with just about anything you need so its a great event to get those things you have been wanting. Cant wait to see everyone.

Are parking/launch pads in the same place as last year or as it was for years prior, further down the road in the 'flats'? Hoping for less wind this year.

The countdown to URRF is going so fast..
How is it possible there's 33 days left ??
This is the bestest, most smokinest launch on the entire east coast of the whole year..
I am so looking forward to this..
URRF is just going to epic in 22..

Cain't wait, lol..

Teddy

Hi Super taco. Iam not sure yet if setting up like last year or on the flats in the back. It seemed to work out well in either place so not to worried about it. I know one thing the BBQ will be really really really good so good that you cant make it up. We just had a great weekend i launched 5. The landscape is like the moon set up for rocket central. Get registered and plan on a great time.

Any questions please reach out [email protected]

So what’s everyone bringing to URRF? I may bring 2 HPR, 3 MPR and 3 LPR. Gotta figure out the best way to cram it all in my vehicle safely for the ~4hr drive.
My focus is bringing up my wildman Motoreater 98 and flying it on a CTI L1395 BS. I’m hoping to get to 15k+. If i get it back and everything goes well, I have a K780 Redline i wanna fly as well. My dad has some good stuff he’s gonna bring up as well. It will be a great event. URRF has never disappointed.

They bring a smoker right to the field the day before !!!!!
These are some of the bestest ribs you have ever had bar none..
And at this launch !!
And at this field !!
And with this club, these people !!
And folks you haven't seen in a year coming from all over the country !!!
Did I say woooooo hoooooooooo,, lol....

Just officially registered. Planning to make the trip out from Boston for all 3 days of URRF 8.

Last time I flew in Potter was way back in 2016 for URRF 3, with my son. Only flew mid-power and model rockets at that launch, but it was a spectacular weekend...3 full near-perfect days in "Rocketry Heaven"...Lots of great memories.

Hoping for an encore this year. My now college-aged son will be driving out from Cleveland with some buddies to join me at the launch. And this time I'll (hopefully) finally be making my L1 attempt with an ARR Blue Phenix. (That is, if I can finish it in time.) But either way, looking forward to another great launch weekend.

So it appears I just missed the deadline for ordering my souvenir T-shirt with my registration. Any idea if extras will be available for sale on the field this year? (Or if I happen to be lucky, and the order actually hasn't been placed just yet, any chance I might be able to add my order late? I'm looking to get 2 of the shirts with the front & back graphics, and the pocket on the front...1 size XL and 1 size M.)

You just did..
Morgan has been working her tail off taking care of different things for URRG..
I'll see she gets this ..
The Tee order is going in now..

Wonderful to hear a story like this..
Years ago with a young son.
Years later with the son as an adult..
This is the reason we do this..
Dan, please stop by and say hello..

Can someone give me more information on this? I 'd like to come as a spectator but seeing as how I don't drive I don't know how I would manage it, I live in NorthEastern Pennsylvania and and I haven't flown anything in over 30 years because there's absolutely nowhere left to fly here.I'd like to become active again but I might have to go out of town or possibly out of state. How far is this area in driving time from here? I contacted the NAR section in Lancaster County, where my brother lives, to see what they could tell me about their section and their flying accomodations, hoping to hear more from them soon.
What part of NEPA? I'm personally located in the Nicholson area. Do you have a ride? We fly at URRG and the field is just about 3 hours away from here. If you are located in nepa as well, then I would say it's no more than 3 hours for you. We'd be happy to have you up there for sure!
The address for the field is:
Torrey Farms of Potter Inc, 4270 NY-364, Penn Yan, NY 14527
Visit the website for lots more info at:
https://urrg.us/If that doesn't work, just look up URRG rocketry and you'll find it no problem.
Let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to try and help.

Yes William, as a matter of fact I do have transportation up there.I'm coming up with someone from Allentown but what I would like to know is if they're having on site registration, I couldn't get it done online in time. And also, will low power rocketry supplies be available at the site? If intend to fly there I will have to get a lot of stuff, but I'm not sure if I will have anything ready to go by then.If I have any more questions I'll be sure to let you know.Oh, by the way, I'm located in Pittston, I'm not sure how far that is from you.

Awesome. Yes you’re about 45 mins away from me then. Glad you have a ride. And there are plenty of vendors for all your rocketry needs. Kenny from Performance hobbies is my go to person. You’ll see him up there. He doesn’t carry his entire shop with him but he has almost everything you can think of for LPR-HPR most of the time. Motors, kits, parts etc. Great guy. Plenty more vendors as well. Good luck on all your flights and hope to see you up there!
