To All:
Some updated RASAero II aerodynamic prediction comparisons with wind tunnel data, ballistic wind tunnel data, and free-flight model data have been put up on the RASAero web site. The updated RASAero II aerodynamic prediction comparisons are with:
NACA RM A53D02 Ames Aeronautical Laboratory Free-Flight Ballistic Wind Tunnel Drag Coefficient (CD) Data up to Mach 10
NASA TR R-100 Langley PARD (Wallops) Helium Gun Launched and Rocket Launched High Subsonic and Transonic CD Data from Mach 0.8 to Mach 1.2
NASA TN D-4013 and TN D-4014 Langley Research Center ARCAS Sounding Rocket Wind Tunnel Center of Pressure (CP) and CD Data Mach 0.6 to Mach 4.5
The CD comparison up to Mach 10 and the sounding rocket CP comparisons from Mach 1.5 to Mach 4.5 are particularly noteworthy.
You can go to the RASAero web site at:
www.rasaero.com
And click on "Comparisons with Wind Tunnel Data" in the upper left-hand corner.
In addition to the comparisons of RASAero II with the wind tunnel data, ballistic wind tunnel data, and free-flight model data, the actual NACA and NASA reports are also on the RASAero web site as downloadable PDFs.
