What were the motors? Were any of the motors booster motors? Sometimes if a booster motor doesn't light from the bottom, it will light from the top, and burn the inside, I think that happened with my cluster that I built on Friday afternoon, and flew on Saturday.Originally posted by Karl
Firstly we thought a motor had CATO'd and threw the rocket off course but when we recoverd it we found out that 1 motor didnt light so this may of been the cause. But some how the rocket set fire to it self (smoldering when I picked it up). I'll try to repair it but It seems to be far beond repair. Did you fly anything?

No, that wasn't mine, I had 12 motors: 11 HELD1000s, which are approximately a C1.5-0 and a Rocket Services "F36-5" which, if memory serves, is about an E6-5.Originally posted by Karl
Was you using a white rocket on 4 D12's and flying it with a Altimeter to light a Ematch to see if it worked? What time of the day did you launch it?
I still think it's possible that one of them lit from the top, it really was pretty well toasted! The motors where , 1 C6-7 for the central motor , 3 C6-0's for one side , and 3 C6-5's for the other side. One motor didn't light , and when I recoverd it , the paint had bubbled on all the motor tubes , bar the one that didn't light.
