That is truly a beast, Jerry. Nice.

Umm, am I going blind or is there a typo in the diagram. It's called QUAD SRB and the top of the page says releases 4 pods in flight. Yet the Prime Motor Combination list shows 1 central and 2 outers. Should there be 4 outers?

Yes I should update the data sheet to say 4 POD motors per flight.

What's kinda cool is you can fly it all pods active, 2 pods active, no pods active, no pods motored.

Fly with 54mm CTI! They have ignition heads. EASY clustering.

OMG

After all the time & effort (all worth it I might add) to build the nose cone & tail cone for the El Lubbo (pictures coming soon I promise!), I can't imagine building all of those nose cones!!! This might truly be the quintessential builder's kit. Bar none. Matter of fact, you might want to build an El Lubbo before even considering attempting to build this behemoth... It'll be less expensive if you mess up! :p

FWIW, when it says "build time: 24 hours", it means that you will be assembling, cutting, gluing parts for 24 hours (not consecutively mind you!) That does not include sanding & painting--or even prepping!

Very neat design I might add...

Maybe it would be a good idea to give a FREE El Lubbo inside the box of each Ogee Quad SRB 6 kit. It would fit no problem :)

I see this as easiest to fly with CTI Pro 54 motors since they are easy to ignite. Anyting else I would use a sequencer or at least "Staggar Ignition-tm" for pod ignition only after the rocket has left the rod.

The kit satisfies the years of inquiries for a 4 pod Sentra but without the nose cone consumption problem such a kit generates. It is both a quick consumption of scarce nose cones and an exceedingly expensive option for the consumer. By using "Integrated Tube-tm" nose cones and adding value by making them "Ogee" unlike ANY other kit on the market, it makes the kit truly interesting AND functional.

You say :eek and I say :D

Data sheet says - CP: 0" from nose

That's gonna require some interesting work-a-rounds...:D

Seriously, that is one cool looking rocket, a beast!

They would show lots of tubes... I mean LOTS of tubes! But yeah, I'd be interested in seeing a pic too :D

The whole point of this rocket for USR is to support a new 6 inch tube order. Our existing 6" tubes are the remainder of a large order and are rude looking. Perhaps I could get the parts together from what I do have and say the deliverable will be cosmetically better. This page will be improved with content like that and with a photo of the finished nose cone since that element is so unusual, in about a month.

Here is a rocket with "similar" parts:

I understand the issue of the new kit being used to "prime-the-pump" for a new tube order. If it is premature for a kit picture that is OK. I do not want to hurt future sales of this new kit because the current stock of tubes are rough-looking. I just wanted to see some of the internal bracing details and hardware setups myself.

That 6" Bertha looks real interesting. Another Spring project?

That's why I put the pod detail image on the Ogee Quad SRB page. Sometime before the tubes arrive I will put a complete rocket drawing detail. But again here is a similar one:
