Tube Launcher

Just looking over some of the pictures at Narmlive, and noticed a tube launcher set up at one pad.

Is this just basically a tower fully enclosed in a tube, or is there som other setup inside? Anyone have any links to sites describing these?

I think a tube launcher is normally used with a discarding sabot, like this one.

the tube PVC tube launchers at NARAM and other competition events have a tower inside usually..... the purpose of the tube is to prevent the wind from pushing the model up against the rails during launch.......therby decreasing drag on boost..... some even have piston launchers inside along with the tower.....

They are not closed breech launchers ....that use sabots
