The Tri Cities Rocketeers will be holding our next launch on Saturday May 4th. We will have a 9,000 foot waiver in place (yep, FAA revised our COA AGAIN and knocked another 1K off the altitude) limited to L impulse open from 10am-5pm (or until flyers are done if before 5pm). Setup for the launch will start about 8am any help will be appreciated.

Scott Binder of Fusion Rockets/SBR will be onsite with motors and kits to sell, he told me he has Thors, Fusions, Horizons, Diablos, and ArrowX's available

Please keep an eye on our website and the mailing lists and our forum for launch updates. No news is good news, which means I will only make a cancellation announcement if poor or hot weather is expected. If the launch is cancelled, the announcement will be made at least 24 hours in advance.

If you plan to fly an any rocket that might approach the limit of our waiver, we would ask that you provide sim data that will show us that the rocket will not break the waiver.

We have implemented a liability waiver policy. All event attendees (flyers and spectators, including children) must now have a signed liability waiver on file.
You can download the waiver here: https://www.tricitiesrocketeers.org/tcr-liability-waiver-form.html

Please also note our enhanced safety policies as well. You can read them here: https://www.tricitiesrocketeers.org/tcr-enhanced-safety-measures.html

Dry camping is allowed at our site if you would like to come early. Here is an overhead view of our site with camping area marked: https://www.tricitiesrocketeers.org/birds-eye-view-of-the-range.html

You can visit the page on our website with our "address" to aid in locating our launch site here: https://www.tricitiesrocketeers.org/launch-site-directions.html

Sparky motors are allowed.

If you would like to become a TCR member, the annual cost is only $10.00 and is good for our "fiscal" year from April 1st through March 31st. All proceeds go towards maintaining and improving the equipment necessary to provide a better launch experience.
Hope to see you at the sod farm!

Reminder: 2019 club memberships are due $10 per person/family (this is the money we use to upgrade GSE and have the PortaPotty serviced)

We are go for Saturday, NOTAM has been called in and the weather forecast is 83°F with light and variable winds. Its looking real nice for my 38mm MD Weasel on a AT I59....

Launch Report is in:

Those in attendance can attest to the amazing weather we had for flying at our May launch on Saturday. We were treated to clear blue skies, high of 80 degrees, and dead-calm conditions all day. We put up the anemometer but didn’t even bother powering up the receiver. Definitely the best flying conditions we’ve had in years. I was able to get in three flights for a total vertical of 17,800’ and never had to walk more than 400 yards for recovery. We had a total of 51 flights that included seven 2-stage flights, and again were able to run the alphabet from A – L (thanks, Rich for flying the “A”). The Nyegard family had the honor of frequent-flyers with a total of 9 flights. The motor breakdown was as follows:

A: 1

B: 2

C: 20

D: 5

E: 5

F: 9

G: 5

H: 4

I: 4

J: 1

K: 1

L: 1

Scott Binder was in attendance selling mid and high power rocket kits and all sizes of motors, and Steve Thatcher of SMT Designs was there too selling 3-D printed altimeter sleds. We very much appreciate our regional vendors and hope to see them in the future. We were able to break in the new Padzilla launch pad that takes a 1010 or 1515 rail and our new wireless two-channel launch system that has a range of well over 500’.Our next launch will be the three day June Swoosh launch (June 7 – 9) – see you there!
