Well a few folks have caught on already but, for those that haven't TRF is now on Facebook as a group account.

If you're interested in this extension of TRF, feel free to request access here:

Facebook - The Rocketry Forum

Please note however, that access to this web site remains a privilege and not a right. This is to continue a friendly, if not personal, discussion of our interests and friendships. As such many of the same rules and guidelines will apply there - as they do here.

Those who maintain a cancerous relationship with TRF, probably will not be given access for obvious reasons. For 99% of the TRF population, this will not be a problem.

What does the TRF Facebook group actually do? Is it any different than what goes on here?

If Facebook, why not Twitter?
Launch reports direct from the field: Here goes my Alpha on an B6-6, 5,4,3,2,1 pfft... outta sight

or updates direct from the build table: okay now I'm watching the glue dry on a centering ring,... zzzzzzz

just kidding.

Facebook is nothing more than a social network. Another avenue to discuss rocketry.

Aside from being another avenue to discuss rocketry, it can be used as a tool to coordinate events and also can be used to host photos and videos.

There's an event calendar here too although it doesn't have the intention of attendance features afaik. And there's a subforum for events. And ability to upload certain media and link to youtube/vimeo.

This was something Troy created; I never really understood why. It has now gone the way of the Dodo Bird.

The Facebook app expands membership and allows members to share poses of Facebook. With it, you can set it to allow logins with your facebook ID.

doesn't look like it. But it was set up to fail because it looks like they only wanted to grant access to those who applied through this forum. Kind of defeats the purpose of social networking.

There really should be a facebook page and twitter for this forum.

No, it only required a facebook user to go to the group, and request access. You didn't even need to be a member here to access it. The traffic on it, in almost 3 years, was pretty much nonexistent.

I have it on one of my websites and I do not think it is worth the trouble of installing.
