I was playing around with the body tube transition creator on EMMR (tools / Calcs) and had a question?

The transition creator works great to make the actual transition, but how do you make or add the two shoulders?
 
Good question...

I use centering rings to join the two tubes, then the transition shroud slips over the joint. The top CR in the larger tube sits just proud of the tube, so there's a little ridge there to align and glue the shroud to.

I can draw a diagram if this seems confusing.

The easy way would be to glue the transition to the apporpriate sized couplers. The harder way would be to make the couplers from the same stock as the transitition. Make cylinders out of a rectangle with height = desired shoulder length (plus what ever is necessary for gluing to the transition) by 3.14 times the inner diameter of the tube (plus whatever overlap you need to glue it together.
