I`m going to start my TLP Nike Ajax ,and would rather go with a single 29mm motor rather than the 3 x 24mm (D-12-3) it comes with.

Anybody go this route and does it seem like an OK switch ?

Thanks

You could do it, but you will definitely have to beef up the fins.
The balsa on the TLP kits is very flimsy and not designed for higher thrusting motors.

I would recommend designing it to have interchangeable motor mounts so you could switch between the 3x24mm and 1x29mm motors.

You should also change the 'chute, the Mylar that it comes with is pretty much useless.

It is a great kit to build. Have fun!

Here is an example of the intechangable MMT:

I did this to my TLP Schimitar kit, but I don't see why you couldn't do it to the Nike-Ajax.

Kelltym88 ,

Good idea ,I think i may try that. And yes ,I`ve built two other TLP kits (Bullpup 12C & HARM......both great kits....love TLP) and on both kits ,I replaced the balsa with Basswood, worked very well and very strong.

Thanks
