Tiny seltzer and alka-seltzer rocket - outdoor launch

I had much better results with the specimen vial than with a film canister, it is what everyone uses for this type of rocket. I can't seem to get the film canister to go past 4 feet, bummer.
It looks like the specimen vial went 20-30 feet in the air, which is more than decent for such a small rocket.

If I were to launch a rocket in a full parking lot with a 75 cent budget and all the required permissions, this is probably the kit I'd use.
