I can't speak for Massachusetts, but here in Michigan, the wizened, 100-year-old oak trees enjoy a near year-round, no-limit hunting season that culls the herd with great efficiency whenever it ventures into the wild. Suppliers with trucks full of rocket feed bait the quarry from its safe winter seclusion, and the gruesome, annual carnage soon follows.

No kidding they breed like rabbits. I am having trouble finding space on my garage ceiling for the new arrivals. There are five that need places to go.
