Here's a couple pictures of my peltier powered, self-cooling drink coolie. I found the plans for this in the September 2004 issue of Popular Science magazine. I followed the directions exactly except for a little Tim Allen style "more power!" modifications. I used a 60 watt peltier junction and a Thermaltake Volcano 8 CPU cooler.

In this picture you can see the coolie with an ice-cold Pepsi. As you can clearly see on the thermometer, the peltier junction is removing quite a bit of heat. In the background you can see the power supply I use to power the contraption. I'll eventually build a battery pack so its portable (then I can take it to launches!).

We took this picutre after about 45 minutes of operation. The coolie can keep canned beverages cold and delicious almost indefinitely.

Is that a 15 inch PB in the background?? VERY cool!
Oh yeah, your pepsi cooling dealy's nice too....:kill: :D

can i ask WHY ISN'T THAT ON YOUR CPU :D :D

wish i could afford peltier for me 'puter

Why yes it is! As a matter of fact I'm using it right now.

Simple. Because my PC is water cooled. :p

CURSE YOU SILENT WATER COOLED PEOPLE.

my computers got 6 fans blasting right now at 5 am. i think it might be part of my insomnia problem.
