My brother and I got in to model rockets when our shop teacher did a rocket build in middle school, after that we were hooked. One day while we were in our local hobby shop, my brother found a high power rocket magazine, that's the day we discovered high power rockets. We decided to get the Aerotech initiator starter package, it came with everything needed to launch the rocket. Over the years my brother got out of rocketry but I stayed active in the hobby and I would eventually get my level 2 certification, but I to got out of the hobby for a few years and now I'm back at it I am a BAR (born again rocketeer). We bought the initiator starter package back in 1992, and I still have the rocket. Now is the time to paint the rocket the right colors and put on new decals to bring it back to it's former glory.

Not sure why I painted these colors, but I have a lot of sanding to do. I do need to get the threaded rods off the motor tube. When it's all done and painted I can put on the new decals. I'll post the progress as I work on it.

Oh, why not keep it as is, to remember your younger self. You can always build a new one.

I wish I'd saved a couple rockets from when I was 10 or so. They were terrible. Note to older self: my Dad's WWII depression era balsa and tissue model airplane skills don't translate to rockets and good glue!
