Trivia: I was living in Houston when the true events the movie was LOOSELY based upon occurred. I was pretty young and naive. When Marvin Zindler did his report on "Bawdy Houses" I asked my parents what a bawdy house was. Mom gave some off-base, explanation of it being something like an unlicensed dance hall.
My understanding is that Roddy ad-libbed that line. Something he was quite good at. RIPbest line from a movie and best alien movie EVER.
For horizontal folk dancing. Reasonable explanation.
