The link for the IOS app is saying that the beta isn't open for new users anymore.
Does that mean it is close to being released.

Are there any instructions for connecting bluetooth on the android version? I have the latest BT version. Do I need to do anything special to pair?

Yes the iOS version 1.6 is close to being released.

No you don't need to pair anything to the ground station.
Just switch it on, launch the app on your phone (make sure Bluetooth is enabled), and it should search and find the ground station automatically.
Then click on Connect.

Thanks. I think it’s the android phone I have not letting the app access. Bluetooth. I can connect with usb perfectly on the android phone and pc.
Going to try another device. I’ve got another old android phone lying around. Just got to charge it.

I bought one of the units recently. I don't, however, know what I am going to use it in yet. I think was attracted by all the cool features - like getting hypnotized by a shiny object.

I could rebuild my Upscale Breakaway (YouBee) or redo the big Talon that's hanging on my garage wall. I'd love to do a high-power two-stage, but not sure if that's a challenge that I am prepared for yet.

I’ve got my first 2 stage project I’m planning on using it in.
Probably do a couple standard dual deploys with redundancy to practice using it.

Any plans for a higher altitude baro? Looks like you are saturating something (65536). Or does the software integrate acceleration to give a reasonable approximation? I'm not looking to set any records, just some personal goals. But would love to invest in something that can measure 100k or so.

Follow up - I purchased from Wildman, but would love to have 2. They still don't carry the computer without ground station. Should I just order from the Fluctus site (don't need it quickly).

That's what I did. I would really like to see some more development on the software side. It seems everything has stopped after August of last year. Still no iOS app in the app store.

Sorry for the late reply.
The software inertial navigation gives fairly accurate apogee measurement depending on the duration of the flight. Most of the time it's between 4 and 10%. Sometimes it can be wrong up to 15% but it's still more than enough for accurate high altitude deployment timing.
The barometer on the other hand is only valid for flight lower than 60,000 ft and there's indeed plans to upgrade it in futur models of the Fluctus.

As darrenf said, yes you can order a standalone Fluctus on the Silicdyne website.

Development is just slower, but it's still going on behind the scenes.
The 1.6 will surely be one of the last for Fluctus 1, bringing the final touches of comfort and reliability.
As I said the mobile apps will be officially released next, and all documentation updated.

Then I'll move on to the other products, including the Reperix tracker which is waiting to be pushed to the finish line.

Yeah, I definitely need the iOS app to make sure of it. Hopefully that goes lives before February 🤞

I hope so too. Sorry for the awfully long delay.

Didn't know this was out there. Looks pretty impressive and look forward to flight reports. Don't think most fliers go above 60k but would be nice to
get a unit for the extreme fliers. In the past, a lot of Ham Radio operators would do high altitude ballooning with APRS tracking. It was important to have a GPS that would operate at +100k.
In fact I recall a Ham from Great Britain who made a micro GPS tracker that would use solar cells to keep the battery charged so it could continue operating at night. Used a small party balloon. Flew around the world like 5 or 6 times before going down by Iceland.
Oh I forgot to mention a flight that had a video onboard (probably a keychain camera) and a twin engine passenger jet flew by.
(Sorry for being OT) Kurt

Those are called PICO balloons, one was shot down by an F22 Raptor over Alaska recently, shortly after that Huge Party Balloon bigger then a Bus was shot down

Does this require IPHONE, or would iPad work?

Ulyu,
When I ordered a few weeks ago from Wildman it said in stock. Now it mentions preorder. Do you know what the schedule is for them shipping flight systems? Need to adjust February plans if they’re delayed.

I don't know, check with Wildman directly.
He indeed seems to be out of stock. I should send him a big batch in about a week, so I guess it'll be good for February.

I am am sorry you should have been contacted directly either phone or email.
Our inventory was off by 1 and we have them on order and are due in very soon.

Here it is... the 1.6 update is finally out !

As I announced, it adds a host of comfort and reliability enhancements, as well as many features requested a while back.
Among them:
- Option for telemetry in imperial units
- Quick ground station reconnect
- Split 4 camera compatibility
- UART telemetry flight data output
- Tower tilt angle measuring
- Maximum angle windowed to the last second of flight (more convenient for staging aborts)
- Way more precise and smart descent speed calculation
- Independent servo angles control
- Much better overall reliability through lot of fixes, etc.

The full changelog is available here: silicdyne.net/changelog-fluctus
You can download the update on the Silicdyne website, and all units shipped from now on will be running this firmware.

Overall the product is now pretty mature, so I think that the 1.6 is probably the last major update for Fluctus 1.
All that remains is to officially publish the mobile apps on the stores and update the documentation properly with all the changes. Should be done by next week I hope :headspinning:.

Update 1.7 also released to patch a few bugs and enable IMU compatibility with newly shipped Fluctus.

The Android mobile telemetry app is available silicdyne.net/downloads,
and the iOS one is in the process of being validated by Apple.

By the way, Google is asking me to prove a user base before the app can be pushed to the Playstore. So I need a little more than a dozen people to pass this test. If you're a Fluctus user, before downloading the app from my website, please send me a message with your google email address. I'll add you to the list of internal testers, you'll be able to install it directly from a Playstore link and that will help me to get Google's aprooval.
Thanks !

I can't get 1.7 to run on my laptop. I double click the exe and nothing happens. I tried 1.6 again and it is working.
I tried rebooting and also downloaded it again. Still nothing.
Anyone else or just me?

Oops sorry for that, just realised the problem... It somehow happens if you have a specific font (Inter) installed on your Windows.
I've just uploaded the corrected file. Redownload the software and it should work just fine.

Documentation has finally been updated with all latest changes from versions 1.4 to 1.7 and for the mobile app.
You can get it here: https://silicdyne.net/fluctusdoc

And as it has been requested, I have also released a detailed 3D CAD model of the SteadyBlue ground station.
