After listening to a few of these I forced myself to close the search link. It was difficult to for they were addictive. I REALLY LIKED the theme from Beverly Hills Cop!

That's what they look and sound like. My flatbed scanner is musical, too, although not intentionally like his.

Because stepper motors (like the small ones used in each of those flatbed scanners) are rotational speed controlled by varying the frequency of stepping pulses, they mechanically vibrate at an associated frequency:
