Although perhaps replacing scientific concepts with nebulous divine mechanics, where absolutely everything is attributed to a creative or destructive act of God, may absolutely be the point.
Good science education admits that we don’t always have all the answers and presents all possible theories, not so students can pick one, but so they understand the process. If no reasonable theories can be discussed that’s a travesty.

Unfortunately, I have observed over my lifetime the introduction of agenda over truth in "science". Money, personal aggrandizement, power, etc have infected science, and the patient may not make it.
