Well it's that time again....first annual WinterNational Crazy Jim Pyrate Drag race...... there will be Grog & DarkStars a plenty...........



Don Ball & yours truly invite ya'll to participate! First we have DS Mini's on 3 grain CTI F-240 V-max good for around 1,000ft. Don't have one? Any Mini will do!



Next ...the "original" DarkStar's that started it all! Now called the DS Jr's with 38mm holes.
Gonna take the payload off and fly in short form first on G's....then stick the whole thing back together & fly on 3 grain 38 I-345 white Thunder.



Don't have one... no worries any Jr size will get ya in.

Moving up to 3in DS and the "BlackPearl" this one cannot be beat, cause it's a PYRATE! we're doing these on J-500 or J-740 greens! 5-6000 ft



Finally the big boys DS Xtreme 4's on L-910 2 grain 75's These are gonna scream all the way to 8-9000ft




Then I'll finish off with my other pirate rocket...."Bad to the Bone" cluster buster Ultimate Endeavor flying on a 54 central K-skid with 3 38 somethings all ground started......




So "all ye lilly livered bilge rats" I'm throw'n down the gauntlet. Who wants to join in? Are ya Mildmen or WildMen?

You can participate with any 3in. in the 3in race ....4in. in that one etc. as long as motor is same class ie....G in G class. L..in L class we accept all takers, "whether thar be backstabb'n scoundrels or Capt'ns of the fleet"

IN! I have both a Wildman JR and a DarkStar JR.

Also have a 3" G3 with trimmed fins. It's flown on a J500 before, but I'll have to sim the J740. That sounds like an interesting load.

Not when it's a CTI AMW ProX K1075 skid for the 2550 case, 360lbs of skiddy thrust! Any thing else in this case would be an L! I'm trying to locate 3 more skids for the other 38's by the way.

Besides that's more newtons than you've flown in your career! LOL

The only catch is that I am not sure that I'll be able to make it to the field on Friday and I would hate to miss the Jr. drag race because it took place before I arrived!

Very true...I may have to break (another) promise that I made to myself not to start another kit until I have the four that are on the bench completed.

I'm really hoping to have the 4" IRIS and the Astrobee D ready for the next Orangeburg launch. Maybe you can help me with the Wildman Jr. e-bay that Saturday evening! The Richter Recker may just have to wait another month...

I'm stuff'n a K-1075 [AMW 2550 case] in center hole 2245ns
3 J-381 CTI 6grain skids [Thanks Kenny] 660ns x 3 =1980ns
total 4225ns for a large complex L flight.

Part of the fun in these races is: "no man left behind". We help each other out finding rockets after flight. Need a tracker come see me I have a couple extra.

Don't have a DarkStar & want in on the fun? Just fly the appropriate diam. rocket & join us. Same for motor, just fly same size any color in same grain size we are... ie 3 grain etc.

I'll supply all motor starters & any ejection charge lighters for everyone..... free.

Suggestion....prep your rockets before ya get there as much as possible.

I think I will decide on the field. I have 3 cluster rockets I am bringing. A-5.5" with a central 54 and 2 29's. B-5.5 with a central 54 and 4-29's. C-7.5 unpainted Standard Arm with a central 75 and 4-38's. I have loads to fill all of them up so what to do........... Maybe J360 and 4-J520's!!! I also have a few L820's. These make a LOT of noise!! C'mon Jimmy, help out a brother!!
