I have seen several projects using this as intended (as a booster), but has anyone had experience with this as a permanent base for a larger rocket?
I really want a Nike Tomahawk, but my local club has become gun shy on any staged rockets (I can't even fly my E>C models anymore). So, its either drive a long way, or just build it as a single stage. Plan was motor in the booster section, then add an AV bay to the smaller tomahawk model and just make it a nice DD rocket. What I am curious about is stresses around the transition (although I suppose LOC does have similar models using a transition, this would just have extra fins)
