    In '88 I got to witness the 2nd stage of a Trident II sub launch ICBM go down those tracks and thought that was fast; 10 miles in the literal blink of an eye. I could see the water plume from the sled brakes at the other end before the ignition sound got to me and I was less than 100yds away at light-off. Hypersonic would make for some interesting visual recording technology....
