I just bought an Estes Super Vega from Mike in Memphis (see the Yard Sale listing of the other kits he has).

The kit has no plans, which Mike told me, but I can't download the plans from JimZ because the 20/20 viewer won't run on a Mac.

Anyone out there who might have a set of the plans and be willing to scan them into PDF format and upload them to JimZ, or email them to me?

Thanks,

Gus

Gus,

I can download them and bring them to the next club meeting.

Thanks Sandman,

Guess what, I just found the plans, sandwiched between the decal sheets.

But since I don't have a scanner, I'm sure there are others who'd still appreciate a PDF copy on JimZ's site.

Thanks all,

Gus

Fore Check,

Actually thought I'd NEED them on this one for the landing gear pods.

Otherwise, nope, never use instructions. Not me. I'm a REAL rocketeer!

Actually built Sandman's Little Joe II without the instructions. :D

Lot faster that way!

Came out good. Check out the pic.

Just as soon as I finish the launch pad I'll be ready for NARAM.

Gus - somethings a little bit off on the design - I'm not quite sure I've seen that level yet -must have been one of the long forgotten plans that didn't make the final cut. BTW - nice pink !!!!!

HEY!!! :kill:

Somebody has been playing with their Paint program!

Hey,

Laugh if you will, but I think it's a pretty fair approximation of Little Joe 9B!

Though often overlooked by modelers, this was the flight used to test the onboard sanitation system and (later aborted) hi-fi entertainment system.

The new color scheme induced seizures in bystanders shortly after liftoff so it, too, was abandoned. Many houses in Clovis, New Mexico were later reputed to have been painted with the considerable surplus intended for the Saturns.

That must be the one with the special pink ablative material coating on the capsule in case it re-enters backwards.

Having once lived in Clovis for over 3 years ('88-'91), I would agree with that statement:D

Gus,
If you haven't started the pods yet, consider spring loading them. Also, I used fiberglass rod to REbuild mine after the original dowels snapped on two out of three landings. A chute with a spill hole might help also. I think it is the oscillation as it comes in that shears off the gear.

Hmm... that picture doesn't look too convincing somehow. ;) So I went looking for a more accurate image of Little Joe IX. This one shows a few additional details which, no doubt, you will wish to add to make your model more authentic...

You guys...you have way too much free time on your hands!:D

Maybe you need a hobby!

Sandman,

You're right.

I really should stop this nonsense and build some rockets.

But before I do, I thought I should pass along this historical/hysterical artifact.

Ah Yes - a definite memorable catalog - I don't think it made the final cut - nice try though
