Super Glue Remover?

what is the best way to remove super glue from a surface after it has stuck on?

Part of your answer depends on the surface that it is adhered to. The only two things that I know of that will dissolve super glue are super glue debonder (not sure what it is composed of) and acetone.

Acetone itself is a pretty powerful dissolver.

Again, depending on the surface, sometimes it's just better to scrape it off.

One of the chemist members will probably have better answers for you.

it is stuck to an aluminum surface (I think) if not some kind of metal

Go to a hobby shop and buy a bottle of Super Glue Debonder.

Nail polish remover might be cheaper.

If the super glue is on a metal surface, acetone or MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) are your best bets for removing it. Caution these solvents are very flamable and will craze or melt plastics like polystyrene.
