sub $100 generic action camera

I am looking to get a GoPro style camera to take up close videos of launches. Maybe something with slo-mo capabilities. I really don't want to spend GoPro money if I can help it.
I see a lot of generic action cameras on Amazon claiming 4k, 60fps, etc. Some as low as $20.
Has anyone found a decent camera under $100 that works well for those "off the pad" shots?

FWIW I bought one of the inexpensive ($40) "action cameras". Main issue was that the image was extremely distorted; curvature of field. Ended up buying a GoPro after.

That’s what I figured. Just hoping someone would surprise me with a decent find.
I might need to keep an eye on eBay for a used GoPro.

I found GoPro 6's for $150 at Walmart. That's a lot more than $100, but the cheapest I've found anywhere.
