Spent casings people, spent casings! What material is it, and what do you recommend to use on casing to casing joints? How about casing to wood joints? How about what to use to remove residue from inside the casing itself? Thanks!

What are you trying to do with the spent casings?

I usually use spent casings to make stands for my rockets (2 spent casings glued end to end and then onto a piece of wood) or I cut them up for thrust rings with a miter box and back saw. The the black powder motor casings are just thick cardboard they can be easily glued to one another and to wood with yellow or white glue. I use an old masonary drill bit to remove the clay nozzle and residue. I have also used a nail punch to break out the clay nozzle. Spent casings ususally aren't much good for anything else since the inner wall is usually partly eroded through and the outer wall is not very uniform.

It this what you were looking for?
