Ill be posting pictures of my steampunk V2 build in here as I progress, ive already finished building the actual kit (Finished it as of three years go, never got around to decorating it until now  ) and at the moment im working on riveting and other details. I think i MIGHT be done with the riveting and such as it stands, im not sure, I might think of something else to add before the paint goes on.

Anyway, on to the pictures:

These are just plastic rivets glued onto cut up pieces of card stock. There is a handful of balsa features but not too much.

Ive used (so far) a total of 355 rivets. My world is rivets and glue :surprised:

Here is the color scheme Im going to be going with, Im still doing a bit of practice on mock ups to get the technique down, but the general idea is black wash and rusting over gold paint.

Let me know what you guys think and if theres anything I should add :)

White primer on, this stuff came out really thin, may or may not go for a second coat.

How are you mounting the launch lug so that it clears the forest of rivets? Looking great!
Here is the launch lug, seems to fit over the rivets fine.

Going to put a 2nd coat of primer on, this Krylon stuff really likes to stay in the can.

I let the 2nd primer coat dry and sanded all the imperfections off, tomorrow comes the golden paint!

Another picture of the gold paint now that its dried a bit, there are some blemishes but I think theyll be covered by the weathering just nicely.

Most excellent! I ought to do that with a Saturn V.

That would definitely be interesting, im not sure if the Saturn V's lines would fit the steampunk aesthetic very well though.

Some more pictures of the weathering.

The last thing I need to do is finish weathering the nose cone (its still shineh) and cleaning up some bad looking paint splotches.

Good Job Odo!

Nice job on the weathering techniques. I also like the slight lean it has... Nice touch!
