Does anyone have a recommendation for stainable wood filler?

It's for birch plywood (non-rocketry related).

what are you filling? Usually, they don't look too good when stained. If I am filling nail holes then I use a colored filler after the finish.

I do quite a bit of woodworking. I used to use famowood fillers when the occasion arose. its stainable, but noticeable. I started using wood filler pencils after finish applied and like the results better. that's on nailheads. bigger things needing filling I usually drill and plug.

Since they were somewhat hidden gaps and only 3, I just went the epoxy and sawdust route. Thanks.
