Thanks. This is the second one. The 1st one had flat plywood fins attached to the sides. The nosecone is scrap maple cutting board laminated together. It's heavy! Sometimes I have to explain the font. 2 1/2" downspout.
How heavy? I've got a square build I'd like to do, but I want to keep it mid power, mostly F and G motors.

PVC explodes into sharp jagged pieces... folks learned that using it for air compressor piping. Might be best to look for something else in the event of a motor cato.

Not really a problem. The momentary 10 - 15 PSI of an ejection charge is nowhere near the 80 - 100 PSI of an air compressor setup.

Motor CATO.. not ejection charge.

Yes, I can read.
Well that's great. Comprehension on your part, not so much. You post about a "8-10 psi ejection charge", when I stated...

Safety First. It's ok to admit you weren't aware of a materials issue. Now that you have been made aware of the fact, react accordingly.

My comprehension is fine. I'm aware of compressor piping exploding. And since it's a mid power rocket, safe distance practices are used. It flys great, and will again.

I think that square downspout would make a fine mold to make a square paper and glue body tube on. Or a fiberglass one. Or even thin, steamed balsa.

Way back when I built my big square SquareOne, I used 3 and 1/8” square PVC tube from McMaster- Carr. Which is now a crazy $73.70 for a 5 foot piece. I too had heard of the dangers of using PVC so, I built a round cardboard tube rocket inside the square to protect the outer square tube. Probably only somewhat safer.
