Apogee SR-72 Darkbird (13mm engine mount) and Estes Astron Sky Dart II (18 mm engine mount)

Very similar in concept: rear-eject (streamer/chute) through-tube with forward weight and elastic deployed elevator adjustable for trimming the glide. I added a couple of cardstock transitions to the SR-72 engine nozzles and a boat-tail to the Sky Dart engine mount. I am on a transition/boat-tail kick lately. (Readers of MAD magazine may recognize the play-on words in the Title of this thread)
 
No flights yet. This is just after two coats of sanding sealer and two coats of Rusto 2X primer/paint, and they look pretty decent, but I might do some more sanding and a final top coat, weather permitting. My backyard test gliding field is still too wet to make test glides for trimming the elevators. Not sure when my next launch opportunity will be.
