Had a brown recluse bite on my calf.

Doc gave me an antibiotic shot and some oral antibiotics. Said to get a sharpie marker to keep track of the swelling, and if the borders continued to grow (swelling got worse, or there were radiating lines) for the next couple of days. The size increased, and I had red lines past my knee and to my ankle. He changed the oral antibiotics, and it started to heal.

It took months to completely resolve.

Not going to do much with a brown recluse other than smash it.

I used to work at a place that had what seemed to be hundreds of very large wasps living in holes in the lawn next to the parking lot. I doubt they were tarantula hawks this far north, unless other kinds of spiders will do. I never heard of anyone being stung, though.
Could be hornets as they typically live in the ground.

I also got a brown recluse bite on my calf, front.
Was bit in 1975, it is now a dark spot that will randomly flare up, get infected and half of lower leg turns color.

Scorpions hurt way more but it goes away.
Never been bit by a rattlesnake but seen results. Just shoot me.

In the hotel room I stayed in in Scottsdale some years ago, there was a sign posted on the inside of the door warning guests to watch out for scorpions in the room.

I can't find them - perhaps because they were taken in the pre-digital era - but I took some really nice photos of some really amazing, large spiders while driving through the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge some years ago. When visiting Kennedy Space Center, I recommend taking a drive along the Black Point Wildlife Drive.
