ATTN: Rocketeers in Central Florida
With Hurricane Ivan seemingly out of the picture, Spaceport Rockery Association (SRA) in Palm Bay, FL will be holding their monthly launch this Saturday, September 18 st starting at 11:00a. We will continue as long as people want to launch & the weather cooperates. The launch site is about a 20-30 minute drive SW of Melbourne (in Brevard County). You can find out more information on the SRA website .
I know that last week's NEFAR launch up at the sod farm in Bunnell was cancelled due to poor field conditions, so anyone in that group is certainly more than welcome to come down our way & join us! While our field is pretty much just undeveloped land, I would strongly encourage everyone attending to bring shoes that they don't mind getting wet/muddy/ruined because the field might be a little swampy due to the rains left by Hurricanes Charley & Frances. Bug repellant would be an excellent idea to bring too.
We will have 1 vendor onsite, New Horizons Hobbies. NHH sells AT, EM, Pro38/54, & AMW motors along with a reasonable selection of parts, kits, & accessories.
NOTE: You will not find directions to the launch site on the website. (Per our agreement with the landowner we are unable to publicly post the location.) Please PM or email me for driving directions and/or for more information.
Hope to see you there!
