Space theme Christmas float

In 1999, our city Christmas Parade had the theme of "Christmas Past". There were lots of floats with Santas and elves etc. My favorite Christmas was 1968 and involved Apollo 8. I designed and built with my kid's school a float with this theme. Here was the model of the flight around the moon on Christmas Eve night.

When our float made its trip around the town square, there were comments: "I know WHOSE float THAT is!!!" We had the recording of the actual reading from the book of Genesis from the orbit around the moon on the float.

We won FIRST PLACE in the children's division!!!
