This is a repost of an email invite from the president of MC2:

Be there!

To our fellow NAR sections & all rocketeers near & far:

The Music City Missile Club (MC2 #589, Nashville TN), along with the Huntsville Area Rocketry Association (HARA #403, Huntsville AL) would like to invite you to join us at our 2-day sport launch, "Southern Thunder 2004", on Saturday May 1 & Sunday May 2, 2004. Official ST2004 Website: https://www.hararocketry.org/st2004/default.htm

Here's a ton of reasons to make the trip:

The Field: 1500 beautiful acres of turf that can support 1/4A - M (possibly N) impulse, located 80 miles SE of Nashville in Manchester, TN. Level 1-2-3 HPR certifications available with advance notice.

The Waiver: 10K AGL, but from 10:00 am - 12 Noon CST on both days, the FAA has granted us a 2-hour window where the waiver goes from 10K to 22K AGL! Between 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm CST on Sat May 1, the waiver will drop from 10K to 2K AGL, & we will begin NIGHT LAUNCHES! Your rocket must be able to be tracked from launch thru apogee to touchdown.

Launch Pads: plenty! We hope to have @ 40 pads, possibly more. We will also offer Hypertek Hybrid Ground Support!

Launch Fees: Individual Weekend $15, Single Day $10. Family Weekend $20, Single Day $10 (so bring the family!). Under 12 launch free. Special rates for Cub Scouts - Boy Scouts - Civil Air Patrol!

Vendors: Magnum Rockets (preordering with Ross is recommended!), Star Rocketry (Hypertek hybrid dealer) & several others on-site!

Official ST2004 Hotel: Ambassador Inn, Manchester TN - ask for the ST2004 discount!

Camping: NO CAMPING onsite - but the Manchester KOA is offering a ST2004 discount as well.

We'll also be providing:
Full front & back color T-shirts, $15/ea (pre-order at [email protected] - leave your name, how many needed & what sizes)
Raffles for cool rocket stuff like Aerotech kits & a Cesaroni motor system!
Rocketburgers - RocketDogs - Cold Drinks
Port-A-Potties

Also, NASA has chosen ST2004 to hold its Student Launch Initiative (SLI) competition. Six teams will put up their rockets, some expected to break 12K! The Team America high-school rocketry competition will also have a couple of teams launching their egglofters at ST2004.

What else could you ask for? ST2004 is shaping up to be the largest launch in the SE for 2004, if not one of the premier amateur rocket launches in the US! You definitely don't want to miss this one!!!

See you May 1!
