Something For Frank . . . "High Performance"

But I haven't run out of weird low performance stuff to do yet:)

The only thing is that they all tend to perform about the same. The only "variety" is that they "look different" from each other.

I'd like to see you apply your skills in designing a glider designed for maximum performance, optimized for competition.

Something along the lines of the long "OOP" Vectoraero Cuda would be nice.

Is something like this beyond your abilities, being front-engine ?

Thanks !

Dave just cannot resist attempting to subvert other peoples design efforts into heading in the directions he wants to personally see them go….:)

Frank, don’t change a thing. We love what you do!

I did agree to a trade of one of my Aurora Clipper kits for a completed Sweet V, it's a little heavy for E motors, but maybe when I see how a real sailplane flies I might be tempted to do something different.

Tom,

You seem to forget that, in another thread, Frank ASKED for people to suggest things for him to build . . .

. . . anyway, getting a bit off topic here, start a new thread, things I want to see Frank make

Did not forget at all.

You are aware of what Frank likes to do and the style he likes to do it in.

“High performance” is a theme you keep pushing because that is what you like.

Also, this thread is not the one he asked for suggestions in….:)

The Sweet V is a nice flying glider, one of Estes’ better RCRG designs, except for the weight.
It does OK on a robust E. Might be a little boring after all your stuff….:)

Tom,

Many other threads, like this one, have been started for "non-high performance" models ( by me, too ).

Do you seriously think that my previous "Starship of David" suggestion was "high-performance"?

Or when I suggested the SAAB DRAKEN, in another thread ?

Maybe try reading first . . .

I saw the non high performance suggestions.

But, the high performance theme of yours related to contest rocketry is always around.

Frank did a Viggen some time back.

Contest Rocketry "theme" . . . So what ?

Yes, the Viggen & Draken were built at about the same time. I think the Draken was more stable ( during glide ) and had better glide performance.
