Global warming-not an issue. It depends on the trend of solar activity. Heck, we could roll to cooling and move towards an ice age.

Worry- no. Nothing human's can do to will change it one way or the other.

There is SF out there around the theory that a planet of humans and other species that spends generations not exposed to "high enough" background radiation looses the ability to evolve, and gets wiped out at the next global extinction event.

The Maunder Minimum caused a mini-ice age from the mid-1600s to the early 1700s...about 70 years worth.

About 200 years prior to that the 90 year long Sporer Minimum also resulted in much colder temperatures.

I thought these are loosely correlated, but I'm not aware of any hypotheses which provide a causal relationship.

Too hot? To cold? Who is minding the thermostat? What if all the gyrations we're supposed to perform actually do change the weather to a more favorable whatever. Who will warn us if we've gone to far in the other direction, whatever that is. Oh and a darn volcano or asteroid could simply wipe out all of our efforts in a matter of moments.

In our prehistory a vent volcano was open on the Siberian planes that was open for a million years. Life barely survived. That's not the only event that has almost ended the world's basic stock. That's why we have to get off this nasty ball of dirt. So the species will continue to exist. It really doesn't take much to kill off most living things. Historically every 65 million years such an event happens and it's due. Just like 2010 the movie when Dave Boman says we have to leave...we have to leave...
